Yes, 100%. Unlike cheaper flat-packs that use melamine or powder-coated steel (which can rust), we use 100% waterproof PVC cabinetry and aluminium frames. Our benchtops are made from GFRC (Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete), which is engineered to withstand the harsh Australian sun, rain, and hail without swelling, rotting, or fading.
Our GFRC concrete comes pre-sealed with a food-grade penetrating sealer and a ceramic coating for maximum stain and scratch resistance. For daily cleaning, warm soapy water is all you need. We recommend a simple re-sealing every 5–7 years to keep it looking showroom-fresh
We use UV-stabilized materials designed for the Australian climate. However, like any premium outdoor product, extreme UV exposure over many years can have an effect. We recommend using an alfresco cover or building under a patio for maximum longevity, though our materials are rated for full outdoor exposure
You can absolutely do it yourself. Our modular systems are designed for the "moderate DIYer" and arrive pre-assembled or flat-packed with detailed video guides. If you are in the Albury-Wodonga/Riverina region, we offer a full white-glove installation service where our team installs your kitchen in just 4–6 hours
Generally, no. Because our modular kitchens are often classified as "outdoor furniture" or "freestanding structures" (especially if they are under a certain size and use LPG gas bottles), they typically do not require council approval. However, if you are connecting to mains gas, plumbing, or electricity, you will need licensed tradespeople to handle those specific connections
You can use your own! We can custom-fabricate the cabinetry and benchtop cut-outs to fit almost any drop-in BBQ or fridge model. Just provide us with the make and model specifications during the design phase. Alternatively, we offer a range of premium BBQs (like Artusi, Weber, and Beefeater) if you want a complete package
It’s simple. Send us a photo and rough measurements of your space. Within 7 days, we will provide a custom 3D concept and a fixed-price quote so you can see exactly how the kitchen will look in your backyard before you spend a cent. This removes the guesswork

Ready to get started?
My journey began in carpentry at the age of 17, giving me a solid foundation in structure and design. Seven years ago, I launched Slab Culture out of a small shed here in Wodonga with a singular focus: mastering GFRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete).
In the early days, we crafted polished concrete benchtops for local builders and architects, tackling everything from indoor kitchens to fireplace surrounds. But we noticed a distinct shift—our customers wanted to entertain outside, and they needed a durable, high-quality solution to do it.
That demand shaped who we are today. While GFRC concrete remains our core and passion, we have evolved to manufacture complete outdoor kitchens—cabinetry, appliances, and benchtops included. Whether we are installing it for you or supporting your DIY project, we are proud to bring premium outdoor living to homes across Victoria and NSW.
